RECIPE ALERTšØ -- HEALTHY WAFFLE CONES:
Are you in need of some quick, easier-to-digest energy before an early morning workout?šāāļø This recipe is for YOU! It is nutrient-dense and can help fuel you for a training session in the mornings where you might not feel as hungry or motivated to cook.
INGREDIENTS:
1 whole grain waffle per cone š§
1/4 cup of greek yogurt (optional)
1/2 cup berries š (mixing different kinds ā¬ļø vitamin variety!)
BENEFITS:
- ā½ whole grain CARBS provide FUEL to power you through workouts
- šŖ PROTEIN from the workout promotes MUSCLE GROWTH
- berries contain anthocyanins to provide antioxidants that RESIST fatigue, inflammation, and aids in recovery from exercise-induced muscle damage to prevent soreness -- AKA those blueberries are not optional š
DIRECTIONS:
1. toast 1-2 grain waffles
2. spread yogurt on waffle and wrap into a cone shape
3. fill with berries
TIPS FOR TIMING:
Due to the mainly carb-rich fuel this recipe contains, it can be consumed 30 minutes before exercise.
***If you would like to add more yogurt for substantial protein intake, or mix it with some š„ butter to add healthy fats and hit all 3 macronutrients for a well-rounded breakfast, be sure to consume it 1-2 hours before training to avoid an upset stomach!
